Abhyas.com has been conceived and funded by MDCT. The concept is being implemented at model abhyas centers by MDCT along with NGO's in the field of education. MDCT has financialy supported the needy for education since its incorporation by MD & PDB in 1959. The KMD college in Mumbai has been prime among beneficiaries.

With the support of MDCT, the erstwhile Mumbai College was renamed to Kirti College, so named after MD's  son who passed away in a road accident in 1958. In the pre-independence era MD championed the cause of women's education in Karachi and was the President of the Gujarat Education Society and was also the founder of the Gujarat Mahila Vidyapeeth. His love for Sanskrit resulted in his establishing a special fund for awarding a gold medal to the student securing highest marks with subject "Anu Bhasya" at the degree level in several universities in Gujarat.
