It may also be noted that a large percentage of these illiterates come from rural areas. There is a lot of talent in the young rural illiterates that need to be explored and optimized to the highest levels possible.

Women's education is another important area that we seek to tap and improve. By improving their quality of life, abhyas means to enhance vocational skills and not academic qualifications.

By taking education on-line by way of the internet, an economical medium of communication and information passage, abhyas will be able to act as a supplementary education tool to the teachers in rural areas / villages by -

All three factors are inter-linked and interdependent on each other. The initial funding will get the site up and content can be developed simultaneously. As the site evolves and more and more schools in the rural areas list onto it, we will evolve a model for setting up abhyas centres. Top

There are a lot of sites on education, but very few which are totally focussed on rural education / women's education. Also most of the existing sites are commercial ventures. Hence, abhyas is envisioned as unique form of imparting education to rural illiterates facilitated by charity funds, contributions from corporates, NGOS, entrepreneurs, etc. Top
